LiftedUp
Wife, mother, grandma, descendant of a long line of folk who left their home countries of England and Germany to begin anew in America. One ancestor served in the Third Continental Congress, and another was reported to have been hung as a horse thief in the American southwest. Many were farmers in Iowa and Nebraska.
Inheritors of the pioneer spirit that kept pushing west, my own grandpa and grandma homesteaded a farm in Nebraska's panhandle, the farm on which I grew up. Now I live on a farm which my husband's grandparents homesteaded. Home this has been for thirty one years. Here we raised our four children, here we homeschooled them and helped them pursue some of their dreams, and here yet we pursue our dreams for this place.
At the age of fifteen I made the greatest acquaintance of my life when I was introduced to Jesus Christ. An American Sunday School Union missionary made the introductions, and from that time, Jesus has been the center of my life. He is Savior and Lord, and all that the Bible says He is, and in partnership with Him, I spend some of my days counseling other people, and others of my days working right here at home.
My interests are fundamental and longheld: Homemaking, nurturing, reading, writing, teaching, and counseling. My time constraints will likely preclude the publishing of many hubs, but it is my desire to connect in these pages sometimes, and I welcome your involvement.
